Sepanjang sejarahnya, masyarakat Sebadak Raya tidak pernah berselisih dengan desa tetangganya, Pangkalan Suka. Bahkan, kedua desa tersebut pernah bersatu sebagai satu keluarga. Namun sejak masuknya perusahaan kelapa sawit ke wilayah tersebut dua tahun lalu, terjadi perseteruan antara kedua desa tersebut hingga saat ini. Dahulu nenek moyang kedua desa tersebut tinggal bersama di Dusun Kebuai. Kepala adat saat itu dikenal dengan sebutan Demung, sedangkan pemimpin adat tertinggi disebut Manlir. Perebutan jabatan Mantir pada tahun 1943 menjadi penyebab terjadinya perpecahan menjadi dua desa yang kini berseteru. Saat itu, dua putra kepala adat, yaitu Rongas si sulung dan Songat si bungsu, sama-sama ingin menggantikan posisi ayahnya memimpin Dusun Kebuai.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dalam pemilihan tersebut. Rongas terpilih sebagai Mantir. Adiknya tidak mau menerima kekalahan dan kemudian membawa keluarga dan seluruh pengikutnya pindah ke Tanjung Penjaluran yang terletak sekitar 23 kilometer dari Kebuai. Di tempat baru tersebut, mereka beranak pinak dan membentuk pemukiman baru bernama Sukamaju. Pada tahun 1975 pemukiman ini berubah nama menjadi Desa Pangkalan Suka, sedangkan Dusun Kebuai berubah nama menjadi Desa Sebedak Raya.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
