That morning, it was still three o'clock, and the air felt cold. But the women in the village of Tanjung Baik Budi were already busy. Siti was one of them. Her schedule for the day was long and packed. The pandan plants had grown tall, reaching two meters. The pandan needed to be cut soon for weaving crafts, which was her main source of livelihood.
"Not to mention taking care of my five children, waking them up, getting them to bathe, preparing breakfast, and sending them off to school," said Siti. Three of Siti's children were still in school. Her eldest child was around 30 years old, a married man. Her second child was 17 years old and just graduated from high school.
