In the late 1990s, the forests around Cemoro were stripped bare, leaving the land vulnerable to fires and the community without reliable livelihoods. What once was a tobacco-centered economy gradually declined, pushing farmers to search for a more sustainable path.
In 2015, the Rimbalestari Farmers Group united over 300 members to transform barren hills into thriving coffee farms. By practicing intercropping, applying organic manure, and adopting better harvesting methods—such as 100% red cherry picking—the farmers improved both the quality of their beans and the health of their land.
Today, every cup of Cemoro coffee represents more than taste. It reflects a journey of resilience, where farming revives forests, uplifts communities, and restores balance between people and nature. Through coffee, Cemoro farmers prove that sustainability and prosperity can grow together.
Since the forests of Cemoro were left barren in the late 1990s, farmers have been striving to find a new path. Through Rimbalestari Farmers Group with over 300 members, coffee has become not only a source of livelihood but also a way to restore the forest and bring hope for the next generation.

Our Arabica is 100% red-picked, carefully washed with 48 hours of fermentation, and sun-dried for 15 days in greenhouses. By practicing intercropping, using organic manure, and minimal fruit fertilizer, farmers not only produce quality beans but also nurture the soil and strengthen the forest’s regeneration.
