The climate change education activity was attended by 30 male farmers and female farmers producing palm sugar (brown sugar) three villages in Rilau Ale District and one village in Bulukumpa District,
Bonto Matene Village, Bajiminasa Village, Bonto Lohe Village, Rilau Ale District, and Sapobonto Village, Bulukumpa District
This activity is carried out by the DANA MITRA TANI Institute and is part of the program
Development and Assistance to Farmer Communities Producing Environmentally Friendly Brown Sugar Products Through Cooperative Business Entities to Support the Restoration and Protection of the Balangtieng Watershed Ecosystem
Assistance to Palm Sugar Producing Farmers for the preservation of the Balatieng Watershed Area supported by GEF-SGP, the Environmental Business Development Foundation and UNDP.
Climate Change Education for palm sugar producing farmers in 12 villages in the program area is divided into 3 meeting classes, each class has participants from 4 villages, with a total of 30 participants per class
This climate change education activity is expected to provide 100 farming families with knowledge about climate change, so that in the future there will be joint efforts to carry out adaptation actions, climate change mitigation and environmental preservation in the Balangtieng watershed area.
The climate change education activity which was held today in the meeting hall of Bonto Haru Village, Rilau Ale District was opened by the Bonto Matene Village government and present as a resource person was Muhammad Ardi Nur, S.Kel, M.Si Head of the Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Division of the Environmental Service and Forestry (DLHK) Bulukumba Regency (Wandi/RD).
