GENERAL PURPOSE
Helping the people of Bokonusan Village and Uiboa Village to preserve forests and beaches and at the same time helping them maximize the potential of forest and beach tourism in both villages as a source of sustainable income.

ACHIEVEMENT I
The community understands the importance of the environment and local resources for them, understands the extent of the benefits of ecotourism protection for them.

PROJECT IMPACT
Positive
- People are starting to understand the concept of tourism and sustainability.
- There are supporting facilities in both villages, especially in the center of the ecotourism area.
- There are good movements and agreements emerging from the community, such as the #CleanWeek Movement and the agreement to make customary forests a conservation area.
- There are environmentally friendly practices such as water purification, organic farming, biomass stoves.
- The community began to receive economic additional benefits both directly and indirectly: levies, product innovation processing, activities offered.
- Establishment of community-based ecotourism management (in Semau, these two villages were the first).
- Community capacity in the tourism sector: tour guides, tourist lodges, hospitality, etc.
- Joint agreement regarding village regulations that will regulate the area: sand mining, fish bombing, area planning.
- Building collaboration with various parties: universities, government and non-government agencies, activists, etc.

- Garbage at several points has increased due to visitors.

PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY
Ecotourism is one of the institutions' focuses that will continue to be developed. The Semau program is an institutional pilot project which is a learning reference for institutions. Three concrete sustainability measures have been carried out:
